Shipping policy

This Shipping Policy explains charges, service areas, processing, dispatch and tracking for Orders placed with LB Hyper (Pty) Ltd, trading as LB's Hyper.

1. Service area

We deliver within South Africa only at launch.

Delivery is subject to Courier and Supplier service coverage. Some remote or restricted locations may require an alternative arrangement, a surcharge or cancellation and refund of the affected item.

2. Standard delivery charge

The standard delivery charge is R149 per Order, subject to the exceptions below.

Free standard delivery applies when the qualifying merchandise subtotal exceeds R1,199 after discounts. In practical terms, this means the qualifying merchandise subtotal must be R1,200 or more.

The qualifying merchandise subtotal is calculated before delivery charges and after promotional discounts, refunds, cancellations or other adjustments.

3. Heavy, bulky, oversized and exceptional deliveries

Heavy, bulky, oversized, fragile, special-handling, remote-area or unusually expensive-to-deliver Products or Orders may attract an additional delivery charge where the standard R149 charge is insufficient.

A heavy or bulky surcharge may still apply even when the Order qualifies for free standard delivery.

Where the surcharge is not calculated automatically at checkout, we will contact the Customer before the affected Product or Order is dispatched. The Customer may accept and pay the disclosed surcharge or cancel the affected Product or Order for a refund of the unfulfilled amount.

We will not add an undisclosed surcharge after dispatch.

4. Processing and dispatch

Processing begins after successful payment authorisation, any required fraud or security verification, and confirmation that the Order has been accepted for processing.

Processing and delivery estimates shown on the Website, checkout, product page or order communication are estimates only unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

Orders placed outside Business Days, during promotions or during high-volume periods may take longer to process.

A Supplier may dispatch directly to the Customer on our behalf.

5. Split shipments and multiple parcels

Products in one Order may be stored or fulfilled by different Suppliers and may arrive in separate parcels or on different dates.

We do not charge an additional delivery fee solely because we operationally split an Order, unless a disclosed surcharge applies because of the Product, destination or delivery method.

Tracking information may be issued separately for each parcel.

6. Tracking and delivery updates

Where tracking is available, it will be sent electronically or made available through the Customer's Order record.

Tracking events are supplied by Couriers and may not update in real time. A tracking status is evidence of progress but is not a guaranteed delivery appointment.

7. Customer responsibilities

Customers must supply a complete, accurate and accessible Delivery Address, a reachable telephone number and any access instructions reasonably required for delivery.

Address changes requested after processing begins may not be possible and may cause delays or additional charges.

The Customer must ensure that an authorised person can receive the parcel where required.

8. Failed delivery and returned parcels

If delivery fails because the address is incorrect, access is unavailable, no authorised recipient can receive the parcel, or the Customer does not respond to reasonable contact attempts, the Courier may return the parcel.

Reasonable redelivery, return-to-sender, storage or address-correction charges may be payable by the Customer where the failure was not caused by us, the Supplier or the Courier.

If an uncollected or returned parcel is cancelled, a refund may be reduced by lawful, reasonable delivery or return costs, subject to Consumer rights.

9. Delays

We will take reasonable steps to assist with delayed Orders, but delivery may be affected by weather, road conditions, strikes, peak volumes, Supplier delays, network or system failures, load shedding, public emergencies, security incidents or other events beyond reasonable control.

A delay does not automatically entitle a Customer to cancel an Order. Where a delay becomes material, applicable law and the circumstances will determine the available remedy.

Delivery and Risk Policy

This policy deals with delivery completion, proof of delivery, risk, title and delivery incidents for Products supplied by LB Hyper (Pty) Ltd, trading as LB's Hyper.

1. Delivery completion

Delivery is completed when the parcel is delivered to the Delivery Address, handed to the Customer or a person who reasonably appears to be authorised to accept delivery, placed in an agreed secure location, or otherwise completed according to a lawful delivery instruction.

A receptionist, security guard, household member, employee or other person at the Delivery Address may be treated as authorised unless the Customer gave clear contrary instructions accepted by us or the Courier.

2. Proof of delivery

Courier records, signatures, names, photographs, GPS or scan events may be used as evidence of delivery.

A Customer disputing delivery must notify us promptly so that Courier records can be investigated while available.

3. Risk and ownership

Risk of accidental loss or damage passes to the Customer when delivery is completed, except where applicable law provides otherwise or loss results from our breach.

Ownership remains with us until full cleared payment for the relevant Product has been received.

Risk does not pass merely because a Product is dispatched.

4. Safe receipt and inspection

Inspect the external parcel condition and the delivered contents as soon as reasonably possible.

If a parcel appears seriously damaged, record the condition and, where practical, note it with the Courier before opening.

Keep packaging, labels and evidence for a reported transit-damage or delivery-discrepancy claim.

5. Unattended or instructed delivery

Where a Customer instructs or authorises a parcel to be left unattended or in a specified place, risk may pass when the instruction is completed, to the extent permitted by law.

We or the Courier may refuse an unsafe, unclear or impractical unattended-delivery instruction.

6. Lost or delayed parcels

A parcel is not treated as lost merely because an estimate has passed. We may require a Courier investigation before replacement or refund.

Where a parcel is confirmed lost before delivery, we will provide the remedy required by law and the circumstances, which may include replacement or refund.

7. Delivery failures caused by Customer information

The Customer may be responsible for reasonable additional costs where delivery fails because of an inaccurate address, unavailable access, refusal by an unauthorised recipient or failure to respond, provided the failure was not caused by us, the Supplier or the Courier.
